Sarbakan Expert to Take Part in Youth TV Production and Interactivity Roundtable

NewsreleaseDate: 2004-11-08

Sarbakan has announced today that its vice-president of Commercial Affairs Jeff Tremblay will take part in a roundtable entitled “Getting the Most out of Interactivity in Youth TV Production”. As an expert of the interactive entertainment industry, Jeff will describe some of the essential features needed to support a children’s property on both the Web and ITV. He will also explore the trends driving the current and future state of the industry.

“Producers need to move beyond the regular Web site format”, says Jeff. “Kids want control, empowerment, social interaction and flexibility. As a new range of delivery platforms – such as broadband, wireless and ITV - are gaining momentum, producers have to realize they now have to create rich interactive media experiences that offer kids a window on real-world knowledge and issues”.

Other panelists for this conference includes Dan Fill, vice-president, Decode Entertainment; Michele Belanger, producer, National Film Board of Canada; and moderator Benoit Beaudoin, Multimedia Producer, ECP Group.

Media-Jeunes 2004 will take place on November 12-13 in Montreal at Maison Radio-Canada. Delegates will have the opportunity to update their knowledge of young people’s interests, concerns and specific needs. The event will also feature screenings of some of the top youth production from around the world.

The full Média-Jeunes 2004 program is available on the Alliance for Children and Television website at www.act-aet.tv.
