This year we have heard plenty about the ‘growing’ population of overweight children. National TV and Newspapers have reports every day about the obesity statistics and are offering real solutions such as ‘Fat Nation’.
It is long overdue that a company has finally opened an online outlet providing fashion and school uniform for sturdier children. Huskyz, a company run by a mum for mums and dads (and of course kids) has addressed the problems that many parents find when trying to find garments for children that are bigger than ‘normal’.
According to Government statistics, 30% of the UK population of dependant children is overweight or obese. Whilst Huskyz supports the government’s and parents’ attempts to provide a healthy lifestyle we also believe that the problem is going to be a constant battle over time. These kids are entitled to wear fashionable and comfortable clothes whilst they are still overweight, so improving their self esteem, peer acceptance and everyday comfort, eventually leading to the suspension of comfort eating.

Plus size kids clothing is available in the United States on a limited basis by the larger department stores like J C Penney and Land’s End, but these stores only go some of the way toward the clothing challenge presented by larger kids. Huskyz has addressed these issues by developing a size system that is much larger than other plus size producers.
Huskyz Online opened on 5th November 2004 and has so far enjoyed astounding success both in sales, customer support and in the support of the ‘big’ community.

Huskyz Limited is the idea of a mum who found it impossible to find trousers for her sturdy son, in the high street or online (worldwide). Work began in February 2004 to design and manufacture garments for plus sized kids of either gender. Encouraged by support from the ‘big’ community she formed Huskyz Ltd, developed a website for ecommerce and included a community resource page and forum to help parents of overweight kids support each other.
